Nepal is a country in South Asia. It is a landlocked country, bordered by China to the north, and India to the east, west, and south. The Himalayas range to its north, separating it from China’s Tibet Autonomous Region. It has an area of 147,181 square kilometers. Nepal is a developing country with an economy based on agriculture, horticulture, and tourism.

Nepal’s capital city is Kathmandu and it has a population of approximately 30 million (2021) people. The country also has many other towns and cities throughout its territory, including Pokhara, Biratnagar, Bhaktapur, and Lalitpur.

The Hindu religion is the majority religion, but there are also many other religions practiced throughout Nepal including Buddhism, Kirat, and Christianity.
